9am-5pm
Location: Takapuna Boating Club, Auckland
Speaker: Dr. Christine Bellmann and Dr Jenny Liu
This immersive one-day surgical programme is designed to provide clinicians with a practical and clinically relevant foundation in contemporary bone grafting and soft-tissue surgery. Combining evidence-based theory with guided hands-on training, the course focuses on techniques that can be confidently integrated into everyday clinical practice.
Topics covered include anatomical considerations for surgical planning, diagnosis and assessment of bone deficiencies, principles of bone healing and regeneration, graft material selection, and predictable management of extraction sockets including socket and ridge augmentation. Participants will also explore soft-tissue treatment planning, connective tissue and gingival grafting using xeno- and allograft materials, post-operative protocols, and the prevention and management of common surgical complications.
The hands-on component has been designed to reinforce key concepts through practical application, with exercises including atraumatic extraction techniques, flap design, guided bone regeneration (GBR), socket and ridge augmentation, suturing protocols, and connective tissue grafting techniques.
This course is ideal for clinicians looking to strengthen their surgical skillset, improve treatment predictability, and develop greater confidence in hard- and soft-tissue management within general practice.
